Community Guidelines
Last updated: 9 April 2026
1) Why we have guidelines
INFIRISK is a professional platform for the fire safety and building compliance industry. These guidelines exist to ensure that content shared on the platform is useful, accurate, and respectful. They apply across all areas of the platform and help us maintain a professional environment for everyone.
2) Who these apply to
These guidelines apply to all users who create or share content on INFIRISK, including but not limited to: news articles, community channel posts, reviews of businesses, profile information, business listing details, messages, and media uploads.
3) General standards
All content on INFIRISK must be:
- Accurate and not intentionally misleading
- Relevant to the platform's professional context
- Respectful of other users and businesses
- Your own work, or properly attributed to the original source
- Compliant with applicable UK law
4) Prohibited content
You must not post content that:
- Contains hate speech, harassment, threats, bullying, or discrimination based on protected characteristics
- Is sexually explicit or gratuitously violent
- Promotes or encourages illegal activity
- Contains malware, phishing links, or scams
- Is spam, unsolicited advertising, or promotional material unrelated to the fire safety and building compliance industry
- Impersonates another person, business, or organisation
- Contains false or misleading professional credentials or qualifications
- Infringes copyright, trademarks, or other intellectual property rights
- Breaches confidentiality or shares another person's personal data without their consent
- Constitutes competitive sabotage, including fake reviews or false claims about competitor businesses
5) Professional credentials
Credentials and accreditations displayed on your profile must be accurate and current. The fire safety industry depends on trust in professional qualifications. Claiming qualifications, certifications, or accreditations that you do not hold — or that have expired — may result in immediate account suspension.
If you believe another user is displaying false credentials, please report it to hello@infirisk.co.uk.
6) Articles
News articles published on INFIRISK must be original content or properly attributed to the original source. All articles are subject to content moderation before publication. INFIRISK may reject articles that do not meet our content standards.
Promotional content is permitted provided it offers genuine value to readers — for example, sharing industry knowledge, case studies, or practical guidance. Articles that are purely advertisements with no informational value may be rejected.
7) Channel posts
Posts in community channels should be relevant to the channel's topic and contribute constructively to discussion. Cross-posting identical content across multiple channels is not permitted. Media uploads and link sharing are subject to limits based on your subscription tier.
8) Reviews
Reviews must comply with these Community Guidelines and our Reviews Policy. Reviews must reflect genuine experience of work carried out through the platform. See our Reviews Policy for full details on eligibility, the challenge process, and dispute resolution.
9) Intellectual property and copyright
Respect the intellectual property of others. Do not post content that infringes copyright, trademarks, or other intellectual property rights without the rights holder's permission.
Reporting copyright infringement: If you believe your copyrighted work has been used on INFIRISK without your permission, please submit a takedown request to hello@infirisk.co.uk with the following information:
- Identification of the copyrighted work you believe has been infringed
- The URL where the infringing content appears on INFIRISK
- Your contact information
- A statement that you have a good-faith belief that the use is not authorised by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law
We will investigate and respond to valid takedown requests within 10 business days.
10) How we moderate
We use a combination of automated checks (including AI-powered content policy screening) and human review to enforce these guidelines. Content may be held for review before publication.
In serious cases (such as illegal content, fraud, or impersonation), INFIRISK may remove content immediately without prior notice. In less clear-cut cases, we will provide an explanation of why content was removed or rejected.
11) Consequences
Violations of these guidelines may result in one or more of the following actions, depending on the severity and frequency of the violation:
- Content removal
- A warning
- Temporary restriction of features
- Account suspension
- Permanent ban
Repeated minor violations are treated as escalating. Serious violations — including fraud, impersonation, or posting illegal content — may result in immediate suspension without prior warning.
12) Appeals
If you believe your content was removed in error, or that an action taken against your account was unjustified, contact us at hello@infirisk.co.uk with details of the content and why you believe the decision was incorrect. We will review your appeal and respond within 10 business days.
If you are not satisfied with the outcome of your appeal, you may escalate via our Complaints Procedure.
