Hampshire and Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service attended 2,151 primary fires in its latest reporting year, compared with 1,063 at Surrey Fire and Rescue Service. Fatalities and non-fatal casualties from primary fires totalled 91 for Hampshire and Isle of Wight and 126 for Surrey.

Satisfactory-outcome rates were 59% for Hampshire and Isle of Wight and 93% for Surrey, covering audits that closed without requiring informal action, formal notice, or prohibition. False alarms make up a notably larger share of call-outs in Hampshire and Isle of Wight (49% vs 40%).
